1. Descprition about base metal

Galvalume is the result of an ideal alloy of aluminum and zinc. It consists of aluminum(55%), zinc(43.4%), and silicone(1.6%).

Characteristics of Galvalume:

1) Corrosion resistence:

At verious enviromental conditions, GL shows better corrosion resistence than GI if the thickness is same, its service life is 2 to 6 times than ordinary galvanized steel. The corrosion resistence in the machining parts is much better than that of hot-dip galvanized due to micro cracks demormation parts of aluminum zinc plate is smaller than hot-dip galvanized.

2) Heat resistence:

GL plate can be used for a long time even if under 315℃.

3) Heat reflective

The reflection coefficient is double than that of hot-dip galvanized steel, which can reduce the inner tempeture in summer

3. Information to be supplied by the purchaser

The following information is required from the purchaser so that we may supply the products to confrom with the requirements:

2) where appropriate, details on the required decorative properties(color, gloss, embossing, printing) and required subsequent surface treatment

3) other requirements on the characteristics of the products

4) nominal dimensions of the product related to the substrate

5) quantity

6) internal and maxinum external diameter and mass limit for coils, or limit dimensions and mass limit for the bundles of sheets

7) type of test and type of inspection document

8) slection of the test methods and specification of the mininum or maximum calus for the relevant properties

9) requirements on packing and dispatch

4. Mechanical properties of hot dip Al-Zn base

Mechanical properties of steel sheet and strip should be in conformity with the stipulations of following chart.
Because the effects of aging, mechanical properties of the steel strip shall deteriorate with storage time passing, E.g. yield strength and tensile strength will rise, elongation after fracture decreases, formability deteriorates etc. it is suggested to use the material as soon as possible.

For products with nominal thickness greater than 0.50mm, but less than or equal to 0.70mm, the elongation after fracture is allowed to decrease by 2 units. For products with nominal thickness not greater than 0.50mm, the elongation after fracture is allowed to decrease by 4 units.
